Network Operation, Bob Craig, W2EAL
Bob Craig presented a talk on network operations, including:
* Traffic Nets such as NJVNE, JVVNL
* Training Nets such as UCTN weekdays 10:00 p.m. 449.975 MHz
* Emergency Nets such as the monthly Red Cross Net
* Informal Nets such as the Sunday NPARC RTTY and Voice nets
Bob also described proper net protocol and operation. Additional information on
schedules, frequencies and time, is available on the ARRL web site,
www.arrl.org under the public service menu.
2.
Improving handheld range, Ralph Milnes, KC2 RLM
Ralph gave a pitch for the Tiger Tail, a simple 20" wire
added to a hand held antenna to improve range, with an
impressive demonstration and testimonial.
3.
NPARC gift to the school, Barry Cohen, K2JV
Barry gave a presentation on the gift to the school, being a NASA program to
prepare the students to talk to the International Space Station (ISS) via ham
radio. Barry described the process and the volunteers needed to support the
program.
Door prizes were awarded.
