2007 - April 22 Meeting

Esteemed club member Eric Grosse N2VI moved to California in early May. At the his last club meeting before departing, the club threw him a surprise farewell party complete with a cake and ice cream.

Also on the agenda that night was a presentation by Andy WA2DKJ and Scott AB2WF that covered more aspects of Software Defined Radio (SDR) and in particular their tests of a small $10 SDR receiver kit which they built. Also attending was Frank Brickle AB2KT who spoke to the club in January and kindled our interest in SDRs. Frank is the programming wizard who created the code used by all SDR programs to pull out RF signals from the noise heard by the sound card.

Scott AB2WF showed us some SDR software that was able to "see" signals from the SDR receiver kit.
